1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit it. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences for a defined period.

Similar technologies such as local storage and tracking pixels are also used and are governed by the same rules.

These cookies are essential for the operation of the portal and cannot be disabled. They are installed on the basis of legitimate interest (UK GDPR art. 6.1.f) and are exempt from opt-in under PECR.

3. Analytics cookies

These cookies allow us to measure the number of visitors and analyse how they navigate the portal to improve the service. Wish To Sail uses Google Analytics 4 with Consent Mode v2: if you do not consent to analytics, the gtag.js block loads with analytics_storage set to "denied" and Google sends only cookieless pings, used to model aggregated statistics anonymously. The legal basis for this processing is legitimate interest (UK GDPR art. 6.1.f, and where applicable, EU GDPR art. 6.1.f for users residing in the EEA). If you accept analytics, full cookies are written and measurement is exact. You can opt out at any time via the "Reject" button on the cookie banner or the "Manage Cookies" link in the page footer.
