Full description

OSM Thome is seeking a Second Officer to join an Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessel trading in North Sea waters. The selected officer will be responsible for standing navigational watches and ensuring safe vessel operations, as well as assisting with anchor handling, towing and supply operations. Additionally, they will plan and monitor routes, position and weather conditions, maintain charts, publications and bridge equipment, and participate in safety drills and ISM procedures. The ideal candidate must hold a valid STCW OICNW license and have recent experience as a Second Officer or Navigating Officer, preferably on AHTS or offshore vessels. Valid offshore and medical certificates are required, along with a strong focus on safety and good bridge team skills. A good command of English, both spoken and written, is essential, and the candidate must be fit and prepared to work in harsh North Sea conditions. Under the STCW Convention, the Second Officer is responsible for the navigational watch under the supervision of the Master and must be familiar with the vessel's safety and emergency procedures. In the context of an AHTS, the officer may also perform duties related to deck operations and the handling of towing and anchor equipment, always complying with maritime safety regulations and offshore industry guidelines.
